Our staff enjoyed a casual get-together on Sunday, June 3rd, closing the store a bit earlier to give every one the chance to attend.

Originally we had planned an outdoor party at Smelt Bay, where we could play volley ball and other fun outdoor games. But Sunday’s weather was not as inviting as we had hoped for this kind of activity, so we changed our plans and gathered at the Cafe instead.

With Hot dogs, chips and a delicious salad created by Thea, we found ourselves relaxing around the tables in small groups, enjoying the food, a cup of tea or coffee or a glass of lemonade.

It was a great opportunity to get to know each other better and especially for our new staff to meet people working in other departments as well. Carly’s scrumptious contribution of shortbread cookies was a great hit and listening to the sound level of voices, it seemed most everyone was enjoying the connection with each other as well.

Some of us had a lot of fun and laughter playing Mini Croquet on 3 mats that we pulled together as the playing area. I learned pretty quick, that it is not that easy to keep the ball on the mats and never thought I would enjoy it so much.

Thanks to all who showed up and to everyone who helped make it such an easy and relaxed event.

Evidence of relaxed, casual staff fun. 100% not staged.
