Introducing Rebeka Carpenter, a wonderful member of our Co-op team.

How long have you been working at the Co-op?

I have been working at the Co-op since Nov. 5th, 2018. My last day as Executive Chef at Hollyhock was Nov 2nd. It was such a gift to be able to start a new job at the Co-op, so promptly.

What are your roles at the co-op?

I have been a Cook and more recently promoted to Kitchen Supervisor. And, like so many lucky folks in our Cortes Community, I have enjoyed shopping at the Co-op, particularly since there were updates to the grocery offerings with the introduction of animal and seafoods.

What do you like most about working at the Co-op?

I like the team; the quiet and hard-working nature of everyone, the willingness to assist me in learning a new work environment and the care given towards excellence in customer service. The overall feel is one of gentleness and respect. I imagine things will feel a bit more hectic come July! It is a particularly great time to join the Co-op team as the Bakery expansion gets under way. I am so excited and honored for this new year-round position

and opportunity!

What are your other interests or hobbies or work?

I am a newly-wed; marriage to my husband Don, is my joy and a priority. We are building ourselves a home on Cortes. I enjoy my wonderful family, which includes; two adult daughters and three sweet Grandchildren. I garden, take walks w/friends, read cookbooks and of course cook as much as I can.

What’s your favorite product at the Co-op?

My new faves are the Savor crackers, blue box edition, and beeswax candles to warm our home on cool winter nights. Whole avalon milk, litre size is the item I buy the most. I also enjoy the Bio-K supplement!
