Introducing Carolyn Howson, one of our beloved Co-op Staff Members.

How long have you been working at the Co-op?

I have been working at the Co Op three months now.

What are your roles at the co-op?

I am a cashier most of the time and sometimes help with stocking.

What do you like most about working at the Co-op?

Meeting the community, working within a great team who provide an enormous selection of good healthy food.

What are your other interests or hobbies or work?

I have a large garden which is going to become a permaculture paradise!!!!!, learning to prune fruit trees with Bill Wheeler soon.  So in love with my best friend Scottish Border Terrier Morag, you have probably seen us out and about.

I am on the board of the CISS, CIHA and Cortes Ageing in Place, I sometimes volunteer at the Museum, sometimes help Carina with the Seniors lunches and volunteer at Mansons Hall every third friday in the Thrift Store.

When I lived in Qualicum Beach I worked for Vancouver Island Health Authority as a Community Health worker, going from house to house, which I thoroughly enjoyed and help people out occasionally on Cortes Island  now.

What’s your favorite product at the Co-op?

So hard to choose. Gluten free sourdough bread on a Tuesday is one of many.

Carolyn and her daughter just out there living their best lives.
