Deli Drinks!

Hello, faithful Co-op patrons. Greetings to you in these strange times. The new year has brought new offerings in the newly stocked Cortes Co-op Deli and Espresso Bar. Our focus has been on natural and delicious products from local/regional sources. I hope you will enjoy our selection of BC-made beverages. 

We are currently stocking 3 varieties of kombucha, including Salt Spring Kombucha which melds fruit, herbs and yerba mate in a lovely package of deliciousness. We are also carrying their elixir series of Blue Algae, or Chaga Chai, if you are looking for an extra health boost. Zen Moment Kombucha is made in Courtenay with exquisite attention to technique and quality sencha green or orange pekoe tea. Their simple pairings focus on the health benefits of the ingredients including lemon & cayenne, schizandra, ginger and lime. We also have Royals Kombucha from Chilliwack and Squamish Water Kefir in a variety of flavours. Plenty of pro/pre-biotic naturally fermented fizzy drinks to choose from! We have also stocked a selection of classic BC-made refreshments including Langley-based GoodDrink spritzers and iced teas; Victoria’s Sparkmouth sugar-free flavoured sparkling water and artisan tonics; and Phillip’s craft brewed natural sodas including Spitfire Ginger Ale, Capt. Electro’s Intergalactic Root Beer, Speed King Craft Cola and Daredevil Orange Cream Soda.

Under current COVID-19 rules, we are able to offer beer and cider to complement your meal on the front or back porches, or to take and enjoy at home. Right now, we have four tall can varieties from Campbell River’s Beachfire Brew House, and four from Gladstone Brewing in Courtenay ranging from stout to pilsner with pale ales in between. Moon Under Water Brewery in Victoria brings us the Blueberry Pie Sour, and Lighthouse Brewing, also in Victoria, offers us a robust and deliciously fragrant vanilla stout. If you are looking for a bottle of wine with your deli selections, we have the Okanagan’s award-winning See Ya Later Ranch in Pinot Noir, Red Rooster whites, and more. 

Our espresso machine is all tuned up and in top condition. We are pleased to offer a full range of espresso beverages and alternative lattes including Two Hills Matcha, and our house-made turmeric or rooibos chai. These drinks are currently available Tues-Fri from 9am-2pm. Our locally-roasted Becca’s Beans Early Ferry med/dark roast is available whenever the store is open, as is our wide selection of organic and Fairtrade tea.
